B-122a Late-War Polizei (Police) Koppelschloß (Manschafft
– Enlisted Man’s)
A very nice late example (two-piece) with a separately applied
stamped insignia roundel. The base metal is zinc, and over time this metal has
faded a good portion of the original matte silver wash finish off the pebbled
portion of the surface. There are a few areas showing some minor white (zinc)
oxidation. In contrast, the insignia roundel still retains most if its original
silver wash. At some point, pressure applied to the roundel caused a slight
depression to one swastika arm – not overly noticeable. There is no real
wear to the face of the buckle! The reverse has much of the original wash still
in place and is in good condition. The buckle has the half-dome type of catch.
Overall a very good, representative late-war example.
