B-131 Jungstahlhelm Koppelschoß (Belt
Buckle), Dark Grey Painted Steel
An extremely scarce belt buckle, this Young Stahlhelm buckle is a
variant in possessing the young Stahlhelm insignia (vertical oval wreath with an
arched center oval, and a vertical standing sword atop it. It is a two-piece
buckle; the buckle itself is made of steel painted with a very even coat a
matte, dark grey paint, while the oval insignia appears to be nickel (secured to
the buckle by a flat tab at the top and the bottom that passes through the
buckle to be crimped down on the reverse). The grey paint is 99% overall, and
the buckle appears unissued and never used, with no wear scratches on the
reverse. It has a long “U” bar catch, with flanged flat feet on the bottoms
of the end posts, which are welded to the buckle. The two-pronged sleeve on the
roller bar moves freely and turns fully with no binding. This is another scarce
buckle from a previously unseen collection that spanned a collecting period of
50 years. Very collectible!
