B-135 Miniature Hitler
Youth Koppelschloss (Buckle), Brass Finish
A very neat little dark toned brass buckle (2” long by
1.5” from top edge to bottom), about the width for a webbed belt for regular
trousers – but set up with a regular two-pronged roller bar sleeve (aluminum
plated). The roundel design is similar to an SA buckle, but the background of
the swastika is actually recessed below the level of the wreath top. The roundel
is attached to the buckle by means of two prongs through the buckle surface,
soldered on the reverse side. The buckle’s brass finish is deeply toned, and
even shows some faint coppery tints. The reverse is also quite toned, and
lightly soiled. There are also a couple of slight touches of verdigris. The belt
catch is the buckle metal itself (the surface beneath the roundel), which is
first given a vertical slit, then the metal on one side of the slit is pushed
inward to form a half-moon bulge on the reverse, with one side open for the
catch. Unmarked, and an interesting piece!
