B-147 Army Enlisted Man’s Pebbled Aluminum
Buckle with Leather Tab
The field grey finish to the buckle is visible only in the lower
points of the pebbled face. The highlights of the buckle obverse show moderate
wear. The reverse retains some of the finish, and has the ramp style aluminum
catch along with an aluminum roll bar. It is maker marked with the initials of
the manufacturer “R .S. & S.” for Richard Simm & Sohne. The brown
leather tab has discolored but still remains fairly soft. It is stamped with the
same maker’s name, as well as having the date of manufacture, 1939. A sound
example overall!
