Koppelschloss (Belt Buckle) in Brass with Nickel/ Silver Roundel
This buckle is the two-piece version – brass, but with a
separately applied nickel/silver roundel giving a distinct contrast. The brass
is in good condition and quite nicely toned. The nickel/silver roundel has crisp
detail with a touch of toning (lower relief areas) that really enhances the
definition. There is a very tiny dent at the center of the crown – almost
unnoticeable. The buckle has a very slight twist and as a result, will not lay
evenly flat. The reverse is dark toned – the effect is almost like a wash. The
belt hook catch is the “U” bar type with the post bottoms soldered (or
welded) directly to the buckle (no flanged feet). Great example!
