B-183a  Luftwaffe Other Ranks Combat Koppelschloss [Belt Buckle] – Steel
This buckle is a very representative piece, with about 40% of the original dark greyish-blue combat paint on the obverse, and the exposed steel showing a nicely age toned, very dark purplish-brown that is not all that much different than the paint – the bare metal simply has more of an underlying gleam. The insignia detail is lightly worn on the eagle breast, otherwise the buckle is real nice. The reverse rates about 70% of the paint, with some minor soiling. There is some definite wear to the belt hook catch bar. The edge of the buckle shows a faint maker’s mark; not easy to see, but it’s definitely there. Real nice, used combat buckle.
