C-001 Rare Pair of Army
Enlisted Man's Slip-On Shoulder Boards for a Panzer Grenadier
This great set of matched slip-on boards are for the scarce
mountain jacket as worn by the Gebirgsjägers (Mountain Troopers). The board
tops are a very thin, pale field grey muslin-like cotton material, and this
continues on to form the tongue. The color actually leans very heavily toward
grey, with only a faint hint of green. The piping is the bright green color that
indicated the Panzer Grenadier branch (the green has a faint hint of blue), and
is in perfect condition (just like the boards). The bottom side of the boards is
lined with a dark field grey felt, and the upper side of the narrow tongues is
lined in a steely grey colored rayon. Overall a superb set of boards piped with
a much desired Waffenfarbe – and in extremely collectible condition.
