C-011 Set of Army Slip-On
Shoulder Boards for a Signals (Nachrichten-Truppen) Feldwebel
This perfectly matched set of slip-on boards has the dark
blue/green badge cloth (wool-felt) tops and is bordered in shiny aluminum NCO
tress. Each board has a crisply detailed pip, slightly dark toned over time,
positioned near the base. These combined with the full NCO tress indicated the
NCO rank of Feldwebel. The board undersides are faced in slightly coarse field
grey felt; the tongues are the same material and have an extra piece of cloth
added over the “tip” section on the top-side of each tongue as a
reinforcement. The outer edges of the boards are piped in a variant cord, made
of interlaced, twisted strands of lemon yellow rayon (rather than the usual,
felt wrapped cord). These boards for a Feldwebel of Nachrichtentruppen
(Signals), are in excellent condition, and will make a fine addition to a
collection!
