Insignia Set for a Cavalry Officer
Another in the series of fine condition insignia sets that I
was fortunate enough to acquire! This set is also in choice, unissued condition.
The collar tabs are hand embroidered in an almost pewter-hued metallic thread
(semi-matte appearance), with the central piping on the columns in the canary
yellow Waffenfarbe (branch color) of Cavalry. The tabs, including the very dark
bluish-green backings, are flawless and unissued: still tacked together (back to
back) and secured with a forest green thread loop - they have never been apart.
The shoulder boards are the sew-in type, with shiny silver braid (likely for a
Waffenrock) and the canary yellow underlay / piping. They are also unissued, and
in first-rate condition. Another very impressive set in a desirable branch
color.
