C-033 Nice set of Sew-In Boards for an
Artillery Oberstleutnant (Lieutenant Colonel), with Unit Ciphers “19”
Fine set of sew-in boards, in overall excellent condition. The matte
grey interlocked braid is undamaged, and the red Artillery underlay shows no
trace of any mothing. Each board has a single gilt toned rank pip (smaller
version) positioned near the base, to identify the Officer as a Lieutenant
Colonel, with the Unit ciphers “19” above it; these are gilt finished, with
a nice, moderate patina. Artillery Regiment 19 was assigned within the table of
organization of the 19th Panzer Division. The Regiment was founded in Hannover,
and assigned to the 19th Infantry Division, which later was converted into the
19th Panzer Division. The Regiment and the Division were surrendered to the
Russian in Moravia (Mähren) in May of 1945, having spent most of the war in
Russia, after 1941.Great boards!
