C-034 Set of Slip-On Panzer Shoulder Boards for an
Oberleutnant, with Cipher “5”
Neat set, with the braid on these being a semi-shiny aluminum, rather
than the greyish subdued form. Each board has a single, well-toned gilt pip (one
of these is the type with the very slightly convex upper sides, rather than the
volcano-like taper). The dark toning of the gilt finish matches perfectly on
each. Above the pips there is a numeral cipher “5” identifying the 5th Tank
Regiment, which served with the 21st Panzer Division. The braid is overall in
very good condition with no more than a couple of grooves (probably occurred at
the same time. The pale pink Panzer piping has faded somewhat and looks more
than pale – even a bit washed out. Very cool looking set!
