C-1252  Sleeve Eagle in Silvery-Grey Thread
This eagle shares some traits of nearly all of its predecessors. The head is solid embroidery, almost a cap to the neck. The top edge of the head is a tiny bit uneven. The beak is well defined. The thinly threaded body feathers do not show a real distinct pattern; what there is looks more like a grid than checkers. This body area extends down all the way to the top of the wreath ring. The wing feathers are all slender. The outer curved row feathers on the right side (as viewed) has two dividing spaces among the top feathers large enough to look like gaps, and in fact, all of the feathers in this outer curved row are more widely spaced than their counterparts on the left wing. The talons on this bird are fairly distinct. The ring and swastika are nicely proportioned, but there is a break in the thread along the bottom of the ring, leaving a small gap. This bird came of a tunic sleeve, and some black attachment threads remain.
