Tab for 29.Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (Italienische nr.1)
This insignia was worn by both the Italian SS Brigade after June 15, 1944 and
the German cadre assigned to the Brigade (and later Division). It was also
issued for bravery shown during the Allied Anzio landings. It depicts a fascists bundle
machine embroidered in silver gray cloth over a black badge cloth backing. The
buckram stiffener has toned to a brownish hue. There is only minor discoloration
seen on this sound example!
