C-446a Sleeve Diamond for SS-VT Armorer as a NCO
For a short time, SS members who graduated from the Army's Armorer
School at Berlin-Lichtenberg were authorized to wear this badge on their lower
right sleeve. While in school, the candidate was known as a SS-Waffenwart. It is
a fairly large diamond, produced in black badge cloth, with crossed rifles (a
98k and an MG) machine embroidered in silvery-grey cloth. It is glued to the
buckram stiffener, which is visible from the back. An excellent example of a
desirable and scarce sleeve diamond!
