C-600f Gau Level Political Leader’s Armband
This particular example is for a Gau Level Political Leader with its
red nylon piping at the top and bottom. It is for the rank of Leiter Eines
Hauptamtes (Leader of a Main Department) which was the highest Administrative
rank utilized at Kreis and Gau Levels. It is produced with a red wool field,
which has some minor tracking to the nap and a worn eraser sized hole at the 5
o’clock position to the white disc. It does remain very clean. There is a
separately applied white disc with a multi-piece swastika, both of which are
piped with a gold colored nylon twist cord. Both the top and bottom of the
brassard have 16mm wide oak leaf tape which is produced with a gold thread. Both
the upper and lower edges of the oak leaves are piped with a 1.5mm gold colored
thread. Interestingly, the outer edges have a nylon thread while the inner edges
are piped with a bullion thread. The ends are not sewn together. The reverse has
an ink stamp which indicates “which way is up” (an arrow with the word “oben”).
