C-766 Single SA Obergruppenführer Collar Tab for
Berlin-Brandenburg; Left Collar
I cannot detect any sign of wear on this impressive tab! It is
really a spectacular piece, with a superb black felt backing (indicating the
Berlin-Brandenburg District). There is no trace whatsoever of any mothing!
It has the three-oak leaf cluster with two acorns, which looks to be made of
nickel silver, coated with a frosted silver wash. Some of the wash is gone, but
the nickel silver where exposed has taken on a range of tonings that give the
insignia a spectacular, antique look. In the top left corner is small-sized
bright aluminum pip, which together with the oak leaves indicated the very
senior SA rank of Obergruppenführer. The tab edges are piped in twist aluminum
cord. This extremely desirable tab represents both a very desirable rank, and
the highly sought after Berlin black backing. Choice!
