D-009 Letter of Congratulations on Promotion from
The Lord Mayor of the Reich’s Party City of Nürnberg, Willy Liebel
This is on the official letterhead (measuring approximately 11.5”
by 8”) of the Lord Mayor of Nuremberg, complete with a city eagle. Dated to
1940, the Mayor offers congratulations on Hewel’s promotion to Ambassador 1st
Class, in the name of the city and himself. He hopes that fate will provide
Hewel with many years so as to be able to provide effective service to Führer
and the Greater German Fatherland. It has an original Liebel signature. There is
a two-hole punch along the left side (very common with documents), but it’s
otherwise in pretty nice condition.
