D-010a Letter from Dr. Arthur Seyss-Inquart,
Congratulating Hewel on his Promtion
This typed document is on Seyss-Inquart’s personal letterhead as
“Der Reichsstadtthalter” (in Vienna) with an embossed political eagle. He
comments: “Dear Partt Comrade Hewel! I am very pleased that the Führer named
you to the position of Lecturing Legation Councilman on 20 April and I offer
my warmest congratulations! The document measures approximately 11.5” by
7.75” and its left edge is trimmed, leaving the partial remains of a two-hole
punch, but otherwise quite good condition (the darker areas in the
pictures are caused by the scanner and not present on the document).
