D-011 Telegram to Hewel Received Through the
Telegraph Office of the Reichs Foreign Ministry, from SS-Obergruppenführer Karl
Wolff
This telegram, dated to March 25, 1943, extends birthday
congratulations to Hewel from General der Waffen-SS Karl Wolff (who was
apparently writing from the hospital at the time, where he was convalescing from
some ailment). Wolff encourages him to “above all, maintain your health so
that you can continue to perform in your endeavors of high responsibility”.
Measuring in at approximately 11.5” by 7.5”, it is yellowed, but in very
sound condition. No signature, of course.
