D-193 Nürnberg Trial Document Grouping for
Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop
This amazing grouping features a total of seven original documents
pertaining to Joachim von Ribbentrop ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joachim_von_Ribbentrop
) during the time of the Nürnberg Trials, of which he was one of the original
24 defendants. These documents include detailed inventory lists (one of them the
handwritten original) of his personal belongings, one on the official trial
letterhead of the 6850th Internal Security Detachment of the U.S. Military
stationed in Nürnberg. This is from Major F.C. Teich, CO and Operations
Officer, informing Frau von Ribbentrop of how, where and when she should pick up
said belongings. Another document in the grouping, dated December 31, 1945 and
titled “History” goes over in detail von Ribbentrop’s life and family. It
was written and signed by Colonel Paul Schroeder. This grouping also includes a
copy of an account of how some of von Ribbentrop’s personal belongings were
found by members of the 2nd Battalion, 71st Infantry, 44th Infantry Division in
Otztal. This account was written by the Battalion Commander Colonel Edgar S.
McKee in November of 1969. There is a letter accompanying this account addressed
to Colonel James Atwood. An interesting grouping from one of the prominent names
in the Third Reich!
