D-204 Letter from Albert Rosenberg (der Führer’s
Representative for Supervision of the Entire Spiritual and Ideological Training
and Education of the NSDAP), to Reich’s Foreign Minister von Ribbentrop
An especially interesting piece – since both sender and recipient
of this letter were sentenced to death and hanged at Nuremberg after the war.
The text is typed on the personal letterhead of Rosenberg as “Der Beauftragte
der Führer”, and has a 1929 style embossed Political eagle. It is addressed
to von Reichs Foreign-Minister von Ribbentrop, with the subject: “Ideological
Speeches in Foreign Countries” and in it, Rosenburg complains that he learned
about a speech on NS ideology being given overseas by German Ambassador Schmidt.
Rosenberg was miffed that he was not informed first about the speech, and notes
that “just as it is obvious that things related to foreign affairs should be
discussed with the Foreign Ministry, likewise any Foreign Ministry person who
wants to speak about the ideological issues of National Socialism should check
with his office first. He feels such efforts from both sides will best serve the
cooperative effort. The letter is in very good condition, with an excellent
original Rosenberg signature.
