E-301 Imperial Naval Portepee
This Imperial Naval Sword Portepee measures approximately 22.5” in
overall length. At one time, it was mounted on a sword, but was removed by
a previous owner. This variety of portepee was authorized for wear on
German Naval Swords between the years 1872 to 1923. However, it continued
to be worn throughout the Third Reich period. The silver bullion cord has
the mix of red and black flecks throughout. It shows fraying at the
fold-over points exposing the cord base, in addition to having age toning
throughout. The stem and slide exhibit mild surface fraying.
Difficult accoutrement to find in today’s market! Very good.
