E-301b RARE Naval 98K Black Leather Bayonet Frog
Needless to say, this is a VERY RARE accoutrement to find in
today’s market! It is black leather having the four rivet construction
with NO retaining strap. The color remains at 95%. The lug clearance
hole is intact displaying some edge wear. The leather can use some
moisturizing being a little on the stiff side in addition to having minor age
cracks here and there. The upper reverse side is stamped with the Naval
stick-bird marking comprised of the open-winged eagle over the swastika in a
circle. Beneath the bird is the letter M. Finally, right above the
lower reverse side is the number 39 indicating that this piece was manufactured
in the year 1939. The only detractor is that the stitching to the lower
left side is loose. A MUST for the serious K98 or Naval collector!
