E-463 Late-Period Unissued NSKK Enlisted Man’s
Dagger With Tag and Hanger by RZM M7/3 (Kuno Ritter) RARE Maker
This is a MUST for the serious NSKK or, for that matter, the serious
Dagger collector. Not only is this piece unissued, but it is RARE to find
any RZM Political pieces by Kuno Ritter. Quality dagger throughout!
The guards have that very familiar Boker shape with the shiny plating easily
grading 98%. They upper guard is internally marked with the maker’s
initials F. B. on either side of the tang clearance hole. I did not check
the lower guard, due to the fact the grip is very tight on the tang. As is
the case with the majority of late-period RZM examples, there is
lifting/bubbling to the guard areas adjacent to the grip. The grip is
unissued and is the RZM style having a high contour ridge and a reddish brown
color, grading mint-. There is a very attractive vertical grain
throughout. The grip-to-crossguard fit is near perfect with mild shrinkage
to the side edges. The SA runes button is the flat style and appears
unissued. Beautiful! The grip eagle is the solid aluminum type,
being the point behind the head style. There is mild storage wear to the
eagle’s head. Attached to the upper portion of the grip is the original
RZM triangular tag with the original rivet intact. RARE find here!
The obverse side has printed in black letters RZM / Reichszeugmeisterei /der /
NSDAP and beneath is black lines housing the following number A No. 095924.
The reverse side of the tag displays the large NSKK emblem and below is printed
"NSKK / Dienstdolch / nach / hach Vorschrift" and directly beneath is
stamped M7/3. The tag easily grades near mint. The blade is mirror
bright and unissued. The crossgraining is 100%, while the runner marks are
almost non-existent! The edges and tip is factory crisp. The SA
motto is crisp/precise with perfect backgrounding. The blade
conservatively grades mint-! The reverse ricasso is matching etched with a
large, burnished RZM marking with the Ritter code directly underneath M 7/3.
The burnishing grades 90%! The dagger-to-scabbard fit is a little off, but
not an unusual find on late-period pieces. DIRECT Veteran purchase here
and 100% correct for a late-period piece! The factory black painted
scabbard shell is mint, rating 100% paint with NO spiders. It remains
totally straight! NONE finer! The fittings are nicely matched with
the upper showing some lifting/bubbling while the lower is perfect. The
matching four domehead side screws are intact and untouched! Mounted to
the scabbard ring is the original unissued NSKK black leather hanger, grading
mint-. It is unmarked. The plating to the hanger fittings is evenly
matched, grading 99%. The reverse side of the snap clip is marked RZM /
M5/71 over the olc diamond. The clip is functional! HARD to top this
one for condition, in addition to being produced by a RARE RZM maker! Near
mint.
