E-762 98K Combat Bayonet with Mismatched Numbers
and Canvas Frog
Sound example made in 1943, as blade marked 43asw. The steel hilt
fittings are clean and the brown wooden grips are sound. There is a deep X
carved on the front handle which must have had some meaning to the owner. The
scabbard has most of its finish gone and a few nicks. The blade is good only
with some discoloration and sharpening. The numbers on the blade and scabbard
are not matched. The tropical canvas frog has moderate wear and discoloration.
It has the retaining strap. Overall this example is good.
