F-202 Scarce Model 10-6701 Luftwaffe Flight
Personnel Oxygen Mask
This unique and rare item is complete except for the clip at the end
of the hose. It is in sound condition overall, with minor hardening of the
rubber hose and mask itself, but has held up well for being 65+ years old! It
includes a bellows type black rubber flexible hose, which intersects with the
black rubber mask itself. From a profile view this looks like an elephant’s
head and trunk! There is a green cloth strap, which is elasticized and has two
metal “D” rings that would attach the mask to the flight helmet. The
markings on the mask consist of the model number, 10-6701, and some
manufacturer’s information, along with an ordnance code; these are hard to
read as they are partially obscured by the rubber strap that attaches the cloth
strap to the mask. The interior has a brown bakelite fitting that connects the
hose to the mask. There is a black cloth lanyard as well. An interesting and
super scarce item!
