F-202b Officer Marching Boots
Nicely matched pair of officer boots standing about 16” tall.
Though meant for wear with breeches, though they are not quite as high as some
privately purchased riding boots can be, which average about 18” tall. This
pair has seen light use, but is in very good condition. The leather does not
show any significant cracking. The toes show light scuffing. All of the welts
(seams) appear tight, and the uppers and soles are secure. The base shank of
each of the heels has been replaced at least once, though even the new section
shows considerable wear; the soles themselves are in good shape, also with
normal darkening and wear. The toe taps are still tight and secure. The inner
shafts of the boots are black. Each boot has the customary cloth pull-tabs (for
use with a metal boot hook) mounted on the sides, slightly down from the rims.
These boots are about a U.S. men’s size 8.5 or 9, and fine for a display.
