Early Air Crew Leather Mittens, with Trigger Finger
A decent, worn pair of lightweight leather mittens, with the entire
mitten in a very dark grey (almost black) leather. They are in pretty good shape
with no major dry spots or stiffness, though there is a fair amount of wear to
the inner side of the fingers. The left mitten’s inside thumb area has a seam
split, which extends into a slight tear beyond the end of the seam. The upper
sides show wear, but are otherwise pretty clean on both gloves and the leather
straps with securing push button snaps are in good condition and fully intact.
Each strap runs through a plated metal buckle on the edge of the mitten, then
turns back on itself and can be snapped down to either of two metal snap nipples
positioned along the base part of the strap. The interior of he gauntlet
sections of the mittens are very well marked with the date “1937”, the size
“9”, a large number “120” and the maker information. A frequently
overlooked accessory that will display quite well!
