F-204 WWII German “Esbit” Field Stove
This small pocket stove, which burned dry fuel tablets, is made of
plated (70% intact) steel and measures approximately 3 ¾” long by 2 7/8”
wide by ¾” tall. It is the “Esbit Kocher Model 9”, according to the high
relief stamping on the lids. It flips open (hier aufklappen!) in the center and
has a spot for the cooking tablet to rest. It was manufactured by Erich
Schumm for Esbit Brengstoff Fabrik of Stuttgart. It has definitely seen some
use, based on the discoloration to the interior. A sound example of an
interesting personal effect!
