F-208 WWII German Mess Kit
This consists of a pot and a shallow cover with a handle, which
was used as a frying pan when inverted. It is made of steel and is finished in
an ordnance tan, which remains 90% intact. The interior is finished in a red
hue. The leather strap is missing. It is well-marked in three different spots,
just above the hinge and on each handle bracket. All of the markings read “MKL
43”, the manufacturer’s ordnance code and the year of manufacture, 1943.
