F-211 Fully Inert Stielhandgranate 1924 (“StiHgr.
24”) Stick Hand Grenade, Model 1924 with Frag Sleeve
The wooden “stiel” (“stick”/”shaft”) handle on this
grenade is quite nice and shows normal age to the lightly stained finish. The
shoulder of the shaft, below the warhead, is dated and marked with the maker’s
ordnance code “43 dol”. The screw-on base cap has almost no paint remaining,
but the metal has toned nicely. The porcelain ball is present inside the cap –
but there is no detonator cord. The warhead itself is painted ordnance green and
has a “frag sleeve” over it. It is a bit wobbly, as the male threaded
section has loosened up on the wooden stick over the years. Very solid example
of this increasingly scarce item!
