“Grenade”
Interesting item, with a heavy steel sleeve mounted around the top of
the carved wooden handle. The sleeve is painted black, though the black is
patchy. The sleeve seam is welded together, but the top is open. The handle has
a slightly inward carved center section – the intent perhaps, to train for the
correct hand position. The weight is similar (but overall lighter) than the
real thing. The side of the unfinished wooden handle (not stained, or
painted) has split unevenly along its length (not one line - the split shifts
over, then starts anew), but remains solid. There is no provision for a base
cap. Nice example.
