24”) Stick Hand Grenade, Model 1924
The wooden “stiel” (“stick”/”shaft”) handle on this
grenade is quite nice and shows normal age to the lightly stained finish. It is
stamped with the date of production, ’43, and the ordnance code “eyu”.
The screw-on base cap retains a majority of the ordnance green finish. The
porcelain ball and string reside inside the stick. The warhead itself is painted
ordnance green as well, a majority of it is still present. It is lightly ink
stamped with a waffenamt. It is a bit wobbly, as the male threaded section has
loosened up on the wooden stick over the years (the wood shrinks over time). A
near excellent example!
