F-212a  Model 1924 Smoke Grenade, Fully Inert
This example has been put back together, but would make for a great display! It has a smoke warhead, with the white stripe and “Nb” lettering. It has the date of manufacture, ’39, as well as “DDR 27??40” on the head, all in white. The contents were removed by cutting a semi-circle into the can, leaving a hole. The stick is actually from a hand grenade. It is very nice, retaining a lacquer which has toned to a dark hue. The stick is stamped with the maker’s code (back to back letter R’s) along with “784-40” (produced in 1940). The cap retains most of its green finish. Inside the stick, there is a string and ball but these are post-war replacements. Inside the warhead and attached to the string is the brass “pencil”, part of the detonator, this is an original piece. A sound item, great for display!
