F-214d Small Military Rucksack
Olive green rough canvas-like material (coarse feel), with the
drawstring in place at the mouth of the bag (can be used to pull the opening
tightly together before the cover flap is secured over it). The drawstring is a
cable cord, made of purplish-blue strands woven into a single cord. A black
leather reinforcement panel is sewn across the top of the bag on the back. The
bottom ends of two short straps are secured beneath the reinforcement panel,
each with a large flat-headed rivet. Each strap ends in a flat metal “D”
ring with a curved clip hook at the top; the rings are painted grey, Two more
straps with this kind of hook are positioned at the bottom of the bag. Inside
there is a thin cloth center divider, which forms two compartments. The black
leather straps are all in sound, serviceable condition. The green material has a
small hole near the sack mouth, but is otherwise great. There is a RB number
stamped into the top of the black reinforcement strip leather, and someone
carved the initial “K” into the leather, as well. Very nice piece, with a
set of brown leather replacement sling straps thrown in. Great example.
