F-236 RAD Rug Whip
The approximate 11” (28cm) wooden handle (top wrapped in a 1.5”
[4cm] leather band) is nicely aged and has a rawhide thong for wrapping around
the wrist while beating a rug (or for hanging up the whip). The operating end of
the piece is a series of long, reddish-brown leather straps, finished
(semi-gloss) on one side, more of a suede texture on the other. Each of the
strap strands is about a quarter of an inch thick, with a length of
approximately 14” or so each. The handle is stamped “D. & W. L 1937”.
