FL-37 Two-Sided (Mirror Image) Printed DAF
National Socialist Model Factory Flag (Musterbetriebsfahne)
Also known as the “goldene Fahne” (golden flag), this piece is
quite large (measuring approximately 7’3” hoist by 8’5”), and would have
been hung at a factory as an indication of the worker’s contribution to high
production and quality (pre-war period) that created a “model factory”. The
large size meant that it had to be manufactured in two halves (upper and lower)
and then stitched together along the joint centerline with the two halves of the
insignia matched together. There is a 4” wide golden yellow border around the
entire edge of the flag. At the center of the red field there is a giant, golden
yellow cogwheel with a thinner version swastika bordered by narrow white, then
black outlines (as on a Germany Awake standard). The hoist has braided rope
lanyards. The colors are excellent, the white very clean - overall a real
spectacular example.
