FL-38 One-Sided “NS-HAGO” - Early
Labor Organization Flag
This is actually a rectangular piece of cloth, which appears to be
set up more as a district canton patch for a larger flag (like the SA flags,
etc., with the location patch in the upper left corner). It measures
approximately 8.5” high by 12.25” wide and is made of a very interesting,
lightly padded-feeling white wool/felt material on which is chain-stitched in
black thread Fraktur (gothic) letters “NS-HAGO”, Ortsgruppe Immendorf”
(local group Immendorf of the NS-HAGO = Nationalsozialistische Handels- und
Gewerbetreibende Organisation, i.e. “National Socialist Trade and
Manufacturing Organization”). In the center of the piece is a vertical hammer
with swastika (like the NSBO emblem), superimposed over a pair of extended
wings. The white felt background has some moderate soiling to its lightly
padded surface, but is otherwise excellent. The outer edge is piped in narrow
diameter, silver bullion twist cord, which is a little frayed at one corner. A
rarely seen bit of Third Reich imagery, in great condition.
