FL-41 Interesting Veteran's
Table Flag
This 10.75” square flag would have been hung on tables at formal
functions to indicate tables reserved for Veterans. This is one possible use,
there may have been others. It is two-sided, on a red field that is peppered
with tiny moth nips. The obverse depicts a central Veteran's style eagle in
black with white highlights. The upper and lower edges have a
black/white/red/white/black pattern. The lower edge has a gold aluminum twist
braid, which is heavily toned. All of the braids are present, a few of them have
come unraveled. The reverse is a mirror image of the obverse, in much the same
condition, but with the addition of a small stain on the lower edge. The upper
edge has a reinforced channel that contains a metal pole with nickel/silver end
nuts. There is a string attached to this, which contains a metal loop for
hanging. An interesting flag which is still in very collectible condition!
