FL-42 Political Drum Skirt
Designed to fit around a drum (likely a kettledrum) this skirt, with
its lightly scalloped bottom edge, is in worn, but in decent condition The skirt
measures about 6’ long from end to end, with the widest height (top to bottom)
about 12”, with an additional 2” of white cord fringe along the bottom edge.
The material is a slightly coarse quality cotton bunting fabric in a fairly dark
red color. The center panel of the skirt has a separately-applied white disk
with a printed swastika, and the skirt also has separately-applied white
pin-striping (the stripes are about a half an inch wide) around the edges of the
skirt, and between the individual panels. There is some moth peppering to the
skirt, and the disk is quite age browned. There is a small strap with a buckle
at the top left corner of the skirt, but the strap on the right corner is broken
off. A nice example overall, that would like nice on a wall.
