FL-58 Two-Sided Deutsches Jungvolk Pennant
The DJ used the same diamond-shaped insignia of the Hitler Jugend (HJ)
- but mounted on a black backing (in pennant form). This impressive
two-sided DJ pennant measures approximately 17” by 30” and is a super
example, with the obverse side (i.e. as viewed with the hoist on the left) in
black cloth, with separately-applied, multi-piece HJ-diamond – though it looks
like the swastika was hand printed / painted. The reverse side of the pennant,
on the other hand, is the standard HJ pattern of red field, white center stripe
(separately-applied, overlaid with a separately-applied white diamond with
printed swastika. The pennant measures about 17” vertically at the hoist, and
has three lightly soiled and toned metal attachment press clips affixed to the
edge. The center clip has the flat press-in tab, but the spring is not
functional and remains pressed in, frozen against the back of the clip. The
pennant has some honest soiling and greying to the white sections, but is
otherwise in good condition. A pretty cool piece.
