Fallschirmschutzenabzeichen (Paratrooper Badge) in Hand Embroidered Bullion
A truly mega example of a private purchase quality, hand embroidered
bullion cloth version of this highly desirable badge. The badge details are
rendered on fliegerblau (flyer’s blue – a grey/blue color) felt backing
cloth. The oval wreath for this piece is hand embroidered in fine gauge aluminum
bullion (though the leaves still do not have much individual definition), which
is lightly toned. The diving eagle is hand embroidered in gold bullion wrapped
wire thread, which has taken on a dark toned patina. The reverse of the badge is
fully “backed” with a protective covering of very tightly woven, sealed
black mesh cloth fabric. A very impressive, Officer quality bullion badge -
where did you last see one of these?! A superb piece!
