M-022a Excellent German Cross in Gold by
Zimmermann
This beautiful example displays all of the characteristics seen on
DRK’s produced by Zimmermann, including the die flaw at the 11:00 ray and the
distinctive “9” in the date. The ray assembly is in fine condition, as is
the wreath. The enamel on the swastika is perfect and the white backing plate
has discolored a bit. The silver finish on the reverse is mostly intact and
remains shiny. This has four hollow rivets. The hardware, including the “rat
tail” #20 marked pin, is textbook Zimmermann. A near excellent example of this
desirable badge!
