M-335 German Social Welfare Decoration, 3rd Class
with Ribbon
Officially called the “Ehrenzeichen für Deutsche Volkspflege 3.
stufe, this is the third class example of the Social Welfare Decoration. After
December of 1939, regulations published governed the award of these to military
personnel and placed certain restrictions on their bestowal. The third class was
only to be awarded to Majors and Captains. It consists of a cross finished in a
white enamel on the obverse with a large National emblem in the center. This is
black with gold highlights, both are excellent! The reverse is finished in matte
gilt which has faded but remains mostly intact. A full length ribbon of red with
white stripes is included. A near excellent example overall!
