S-022 Silver 70cl. Coffee/Tea Server
This size would be associated with a style that would have been
either utilized by a server or left at a table for multiple users. It measures
6.75” (17.1cm) from the top of the finial to the base, with a 2.5” (6.35cm)
diameter vented and hinged lid (slightly larger at the base). It is silver
plated, with the silver toning to a rich patina (with some areas having a golden
tone) while showing a few very faint scratches. The handle is nicely detailed
with two groups of rings, while the tapered spout gracefully sweeps up to its
horizontal mouth. The side of the pot displays a deeply incised Political style
eagle. Underneath the base is where the maker, Krupp, Berndorf stamped his name.
Also seen is their motto, which is circular and features a bear in the center
with the name and location written around the circumference. Here is where the
capacity is listed in metrics (70cl.). Excellent condition!
