S-036 Large Face or Hand Towel
This came to us as part of the same lot as the other cloth items from
the Führerbau and the Haus der Deutschen Kunst. It is a large (48” long -
96” overall - by 18.25” wide) face or hand towel in the European style that
would hang from a rod in a washroom. It is produced in a white linen with a
“tone on tone” satin weave that gives the look of a herringbone twill. The
center (lengthwise) has a stripe defined by blue machine embroidered thread.
Inside this stripe is a continual and repeated “NSDAP” followed by a
swastika in a satin weave. There is some minor staining and discoloration. We
have a few of these unique and highly collectible towels, you will receive one
in the same or better condition as the one shown!
