S-069 Mega Super “PS” Made Railway Eagle
This sexy piece has a very wide wingspan of approximately 27”, with
a vertical height of about 14”! It is a beauty with a nicely polished surface
that will positively gleam on a wall. There is a small streak of reddish-brown
along the side edges of two of the swastika arms (not a distraction, since on
the side), but the only liability on this piece is the fact that one of the
mounting posts has been removed – along with a bit of the eagle wing behind it
– leaving a small half moon hole in the shiny surface. The reverse has three
of the original four threaded mounting pins (never cut down). The eagle is
marked on the reverse of the left (as viewed) wing “LOK” 680 (for “Lokomotiv”)
with the alloy (Al-Mg-Si) abbreviations below it. Additional marks appear at the
base of the talons, including LOK again with “RZA 5” (probably for
“National Train Eagle”) and BLN (probably for Berlin). A real
impressive bird, given the superb shine. Sure to be an attention-getting piece
in any collection.
