S-101 Pair of Imperial Milk Stone Figurines
Real neat matching set of highly detailed figurines, each mounted on
a rectangular base; the two were designed to complement one another and thus
are not intended for separate use. One piece shows a kneeling mother holding her
praying son; the base has an inscription that reads “Lieber Gott lass Papa
wieder kommen!” ("Dear Lord, let Papa come back!"), while the other piece shows
a uniformed soldier with Pickelhaube, kneeling and welcoming a little daughter
into his arms, with the inscription on the base of this one reads “Der liebe
Papa ist wieder da!” ("Dear Papa is back again!"). The base of each piece
is about 4” long and 2” wide, with the figures reaching a vertical height
(including the base) of about 3.25” to 3.5”. They are in excellent condition,
other than for some very minimal soiling. The underside of each base is marked
with the same hand-scored number. Very neat.
