HG-10 Excellent Private Purchase Army Officer’s
Visor Cap Piped in Dark Blue for Medical Personnel
This is a high quality, private purchase cap that is produced in a
fine grade of soft doeskin wool in a light shade of field grey. The body
of the cap has a nice saddle shape. There is ever so slight tracking to the top
and right side of the cap. This is in no way a distraction. The dark blue
piping, for Medical Personnel, is mint, as is the dark green wool center band.
The twist aluminum bullion chin cords are excellent, and are secured to the cap
by a pair of silver pebbled aluminum buttons. The insignia continues with the
“excellent” trend of the cap, both the eagle and one-piece cockade and
wreath are aluminum finished in silver while the bull’s eye is red felt. The
black patent leather visor is near excellent, with one minor mark on the right
edge. The approximate size 58 interior has the “lightly used” look to it.
The light brown leather sweatband, with some minor discoloration, has an eagle
incised into the right side. Believe it or not, the orange cork underneath the
sweatband is fully intact! The upper liner is a light brown rayon, and contains
a rhomboid moisture shield that is mint. This contains the manufacturer’s logo
(a large eagle superimposed over a globe) and information, in silver ink, which
is “Deutsche Industrie”. The cream colored cloth middle liner is slightly
discolored but sound overall. The underside of the visor is light brown. An
excellent example overall!
