HG-10b Army Administration Officer’s Private
Purchase Visor Cap by Josef Rom
This handsome example is made of a fine quality doeskin wool that has
some minor discoloration and tracking to the top. The body of the cap has the
classic high peak and rounded saddle shaped sides. The forest green piping,
for Administration, is excellent! The center band is produced in a pine green
badge cloth, this has one or two tiny nips in it, nothing distracting at all.
The well-matched insignia is produced in tombak and has toned considerably,
giving it a dark and dusky look, very nice! The originally applied silver finish
is approximately 85% intact on each. The cockade is separately applied and has a
red felt bull’s eye. The narrow, Officer’s style bullion chincords check in
just fine and are attached to the cap via a pair of pebbled metal silver
finished buttons. The black vulkanfibre visor displays some minor crazing, but
is ok otherwise. The crosshatched visor underside is finished in a goldish-tan
that closely resembles the color of the rest of the interior. This is fully
lined in cloth with a light brown sweatband that is perforated at the forehead
area. There is a diamond shaped clear moisture shield that is affixed over the
cloth label of the manufacturer. This indicates that the cap was produced by
Josef Rom Mützenfabrikation of Würzburg. A sound example overall!
