HG-138 Bustina Model 1942 Italian Tropical
Field Cap for Lieutenant Colonel in a Lancer (Cavalry) Regiment Attached to a
Colonial Battalion
This handsome cap is produced in a soft, tropical light tan cloth
that is excellent, with just minor discoloration. There are flaps that button on
the sides, that when folded down, offer neck and ear protection from the sun.
The short visor is produced in a ribbed cloth, as is the chinstrap. All buttons
are pebbled and finished in green. The front panel contains nicely toned gold
bullion insignia, indicating this was for a Lancer (Cavalry) Regiment, it
has been hand applied (possibly by a collector) and has a black wool
backing. The left side panel has a Rank patch in green wool with two gold
bullion stars and a gold bullion trim, this was for a LTC (Lieutenant Colonel).
The interior is unlined and unmarked. Near excellent!
